The 3Cs that Drive A Relationship

The 3 Cs that can come in handy for your relationship

The beginning of any romantic relationship is a period filled with fun, excitement, and happiness. You may be thinking about your partner all day, and you probably view him or her as the greatest human being in the whole world. Eventually, however, the flood of “love hormones” in your brain slows, and the honeymoon period comes to an end.   Once the initial strong feelings fade, keeping a relationship going can become hard work because this is when love begins to grow. Here are some ways to maintain a healthy, happy, and rewarding long-term relationship.

1. Communication

Good communication is one of the most important aspects of any relationship, romantic or not. Be honest with your partner about what you’re thinking and how you’re feeling. In a polite and calm manner, let him/her know when you want them to change some of their behaviors. On the other hand, compliment and praise when you appreciate.

2. Compromise

There is no love without compromise. If you really love a person there are things that you will have to compromise on in order for them to be happy and for the sake of a healthy and happy relationship with them.

3. Commitment

This is the most important aspect of any relationship and one that misses in many. More than any other factor, a person’s ability to devote themselves to his partner and remain loyal will determine whether a relationship lasts. Every couple goes through ups and downs, but the most successful couples learn from their low points and come out stronger on the other side.

Like much else in life, relationships require hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. However, if both of you are willing to stay through the tough times, you will reap the benefits of having a lifelong friend and partner.
